Header and X-pipe install

I'm looking for help and tips on this, NOT opinions....

I ordered a set of BBK Shorties and a Pypes catted X from RPMoutlet.com. It's supposed to arrive this thursday with install date of saturday into sunday if needed. I already have a GT take-off system, with plans to drop-in different mufflers later this year.

I plan on doing the headers and x-pipe with a buddy at home, then Meinke or Midas for the GT take-offs as I need some welding.

What I would like to know is if anybody has done this before and can tell me the dificulty of it, how long it make take, tips for getting this done,etc...

Also if you can tell me how it's done because I downloaded BBK's instructions and they are very short and don't go into much detail.

I don't want to screw something up and have the stang layed-up more than it needs to be.

Thanks,
Andy

Its not hard...

Shouldn't take you more than 3-5hours as long as all your working with is bolts( no welding etc.)

AS FOR AN OPINION, I won't give you one since you don't want one but you know what everybody is gonna say.

Wd40 and Liquid wrench work great for rusted bolts...

But like 02 said, I didn't have any either...

Thanks for all the replies.

I have a nice new shiny Sawzall I've been itchen to use. The only thing i'm saving off my old exhaust is my Flowmaster muffler for my Exploder. I'll just cut everything off in chunks and unbolt what I can. I'll start dousing everything in PBblaster tonight let it start to work in.

it is with long tubes but the install is identical minus the o2 extender harness.

i dont "feel" differences. anyone can psyhologically feel anything they want, including being drunk after drinking water from a vodka bottle...

but as far as the math goes- i had 2 stages of mods:

i ran a 15.4 with all bolt ons and an open dif with 3.27s

i had 4.10s and a t-lok put in and run 14.8s

somewhere between the stock 16 second passes and the bolt on passes i gained appx. .6 seconds. not all should be attributed to the headers, but a free-flowing exhaust is certainly helpful.

plus, it sounds good

when i had the intake xpipe and catback i felt a difference...and it wasnt just mental...but i mean difference in higher end pull...i can tell when mine just goes dead...so i think LTs at some point may give it a little something extra...also im still on a 2.5 xpipe and a 2.25 inlet pipe to the muffler and a 2.5 turn downs right on the outlet...idk how much a difference it would be getting a 2.5 inch piping thats only 13 or 14 inches....i thought about just running LTs with straight pipes and mufflers when the SC is on...idk if having a x on it would be better

crossover pipe doesnt matter on an even-firing engine. it just changes the note

the thing is, mm&ff has proven it before. so has physics. it is an even-firing motor. the pushrod essex ford family is comprised of even-firing motors. now it will make a difference on an odd-firing motor such as the modular 4.6 and such
