I'm pretty sure it's more then 200 for labor on a throw out bearing, because they need to pull the trans out... someone correct me if I'm wrong. If you don't change it, it will just eat up your clutch.

ya it is definatly more but the guy said its probably not the throw out bearing going bad its just that its hitting the clutch forks. But he has to pull the tranny to look at it anyway so im sure if the throw out bearing is bad he will tell me

well i took my car into the tranny shop this morning, i got the throw out bearing lubed up and the squeel is gone, and while he was at it he changed my tranny fluid too. The total came to $70 and he said i can bring my car back when i need the clutch replaced and put that $70 toward the clutch being replaced. He was a great guy i highly reccomend his shop to anyone in sothern california, its called Tustin Transmission, its in tustin obviously but they took care of it and at a good price.

i was reading the post and actual there is this bearing on the tranny that probly is the problem. aside from that, that needs to be put back on, but i'm hoping that it fixes both problems.

ya the guy at the tranny place said it was very common with out trannys, he sees it all the time. The noise still isnt gone completely its just way quieter. he said the only way to get rid of it completely is when i get a new clutch. chris idk why yours is doing it with a brand new clutch take that shit back or get it replaced

i thought it was the alternator, then i thought it was the belt, but nope its the throw out bearing rattling.

I just got a new clutch as well BECAUSE of the throwout bearing squeeling. a week after its put in i can hear the squeeling starting to come back and i have a chatter in my clutch pedal. Mech said there is nothing wrong with the throwout bearing or the clutch and that it might be a bearing in the tranny.... im guessing thats the same one the OP is talking about...?
