You can buy a gear oil pump from an auto parts store. You will need to find and remove the fill plug which shoud be on the side of the transmission and add fluid till it overflows. Be sure to check what type of oil it takes. They used to use hypoid oil but many now use special manual transmission fluid or automatic transmission fluid with a friction modifier.

I would say check what the shop manual or owners handbook says.

The car should be level when you add oil and usually they want the level at close to where the fill plug is or slightly below. So check the manual.

If you do get it overfilled it might leak fluid at the rear seal or input shaft seal, so yes you waqnt to avoid overfilling.

Yes that's how the rear axle is filled.

For the manual trans I would strongly recommend checking the owners handbook for type of fluid and the proper level. I know some Ford products have used automatic trans fluid with a friction modifier and some cars use a fluid specifically designed for the manual trans.

Take a look at the following for the procedure and check with Ford for the type of oil. I would guess the synthetic manual trans fluid would be OK.

With respect to the type of fluid for the manual trans, the shop manual for a 99 V6 says to use Mercon ATF. I would think the fluid mentioned in the preceeding post would be better.

filling it till it over flows is the stupidest idea... i had a lawn mower where my brother did that with oil... cost me $20 to fix everything that was broken...

add the proper amount needed ... they have a full line on the dip stick for a reason

Just to clarify this point. This is a manual transmission and I don't believe it has a dipstick. I would check the shop manual, but usually you fill it to just below the fill plug.
