im lookin for some new tires i have 18 rims
im lookin at the toyo proxes 4 ultra high performance all season tires
but i am not sure on the size im lookin for some wide tires but i dont want them to hang out of the fender or anything and i want some low profiles
I have found these tires in 245/40/r18 and 275/35/r18
Im not sure how wide these are or how low profile they are
so if you could help me out maybe with a pic of the side wall or
tell me what size you think would be good

okay the first one is the width ... 245 is an average 8 275 is an average 9 ...

all numbers on tires are in milimeters

40 is the side wall ... its bout a lil over an inch 35 is just a hair over as well

the 35's will be the shorter of the two ...

ok should i go with the 275/35/r18 since i want a wider and lower tire
or are they to wide and cause problems

your math is horribly wrong

245mm = 9.65"
275mm = 10.8"

these tire sizes will fit on 8"-10.5" wheels.

if the tire size is 275/40/17, then the tire is 275mm wide (treadwise), 40% of the tire's width is the actual sidewall height, and the tire will fit 17" wheels.

in this case, 40% of 275mm is 110mm (4 1/3 inches)
