Throttle Lag

I have an 02 Mustang V6 auto I got from my mom with only 36k on it and honestly it runs like crap. One of the big things thats pissing me off is there seems to be a lot of throttle lag. When I am already moving and I punch it my engines rpms stay the same for a good 2 seconds before it actually goes. This is getting really annoying, any help would be appreciated.

some people can appreciate the v6 for what it is I guess.

not that I am bashing it.

you know me better than that.

a tune can really wake up a car.
and his car is an automatic which makes it worse.

It could be a number of things. Put the auto in first and go wot while moving. Is there lag then?

You could try running some fuel injector cleaner through it. Spray the MAF sensors with some non-residue electrical componant cleaner (don't touch the sensors though). Change the air filter. Cats might be restrictive.
