Their is a saying in the audio world. About buying CHEAP audio equipment because it ends up costing you more in the long run.

Do it right the first time.

You could either A.) have the subs wired at the wrong ohm
B.) have a bad ground somewhere
C.) its just the equipment

Max power in the car audio world means absolutely nothing -

RMS is where its at.

In all honesty your lucky if your getting 250watts rms with that amp.

Those speakers probably wouldn't last 10min on a TRUE 1000 watt rms amplifier.

JL 1000/1 would eat those subs up , walk the dog, and paint your back porch in about 10min

Your best bet would be start completely over!

Depends how much "not too much is"

Car audio falls under the same rules of horsepower...

Don't open your trunk unless your ready to open your wallet.

And my best guess would be those subs MIGHT take 150-300watts RMS if that.

Ebay -> search -> Keyword

Hifonics 1500

Info: Hifonics probably is one of the cheapest amps you'll find on ebay that will ACTUALLY push close to what they say.(anywhere from 100rms-300rms +/-)

Then again its hard to reccomend an amp first without subs. Its like buying a cam and not knowing what power adder you want.

It also may either be the amp cable cuz the same thing happened in my buddys chevy pickup and he replaced the wire with a heavier gage and it worked. he was running 2 1200 watt rockford with a poineer or rockford amp that pushed 2000 watts out
