no...its not even that much of a difference....they usually get a LS6 intake anyways...my buddy has a 02 SS and said its nothing different from a Z28 same generation.....if u upgrade the intake to a LS6 or something then yeah...or bolt ons of course but just mostly looks

both of them have around 345-350hp at the crank. manuals are putting down 300-305 to the pavement and autos are putting down around 290. and for the record, the ls6 intake doesnt come standard or even optional on an ss. it only came on some trans ams, forumlas, z28s and SSs froj the factory because they were limited in supply of the ls1 intake so they had to throw on the ls6 intake on a bunch of them in 01 and 02.

and to clear this up for the last time:

the ss and ws6 packages are a n appearance and suspension package!!! and in the ss you were able to upgrade to the 1LE suspension package which was bilstein shocks and struts. so to get this straight, SS and WS6s DO NOT MAKE MORE POWER THAN Z28s, formulas and trans ams.

and just a bonus, the corvette c5 which had the ls1 had the exact same amount of power from the factory that the f-bodies had!! the vette is about 500lbs lighter and more aerodynamic which is why it runs a better quarter mile by about .4-.6 seconds

by adding the ls6 intake you get about 10-15rwhp. ls1 mods are relatively cheap for the $ to horse ratio. for $400 for an ls6 intake you gain 10-15rwhp. thats less than $4 per hp. and a new lid on an ls1 will gain you about 10rwhp for only $90-$100. thats only 90 cents to a dollar per horse!!!!!!

how bad is your math...if it was $4 per horse..the intake would be $40....

4 times 10 is 40 not 400
