1/4 mile or rally?

i've come to face it now that newer cars and lighter cars are going to be able to stomp on my mustangs all day long (i have no mods) so should i still go for that 1/4 mile car or a more of a rally car i love off roading and i think it would be sick to make my stang a rally car i know for sure its going to cost alot more with suspension and everything but what do you guys think?

they used to have rally tracks set up all the time at Giants stadium in the parking lot and i did 8 runs on the track and i loved it...its so much fun!! but HM you don't need a lot of power in rally...our cars have good enough power...our cars don't have great traction so the more power u have the more likely u are to spin out..my boy had a 92 camaro v8 and he spun out every time!! really its all about the suspesion u have in ur car!! get a sway bar and new rally suspension package and u'll be good!!

btw in the stock v6 group...out of 16 cars i took 4th!! 48.16 seconds was my best time... average time was over 49 seconds!!

rally!!!!

esp since you got a V6, you'll never be as fast as a V8 if they have the same/similar mods

but in rally, you can out-maneuver any car, even if they're better/faster cuz its more about skill than drag racing is

plus you have a better weight balance, being htat your engine is smaller

Rallying looks 10 times more fun. It also requires 10 times the skill. Not only do you have to shift but sometimes you have to drive around winding mountain roads that have no barriers in the middle of a blizzard at midnight. Rain, sleet or snow, you're racing.

difference between rally and drag

$$$$$$$ in suspension and subframes for the car - rally

same engine just as powerful...help the suspension work- Drag

if you go rally doesnt mean you can drive a car under 200hp and rally..

i would say you'll spend about $5k AT LEAST more then drag...
think

rwd stang in dirt....hows that gonna work when rally is awd

Well i dunno about you guys, but heres an idea that i have been working on. I was Ice fishing a few years back when i saw my first ice race. The guys were racing through cones and sideways through the whole race. it looked like a blast. The guy that won had a Renault with a 4 banger. I was thinking about buying an old 4 cylinder and putting some studded tires on it. Why not a 6. You can race a little, and only have to buy a set of studded rally tires. or not, you can run what ya brung and it's a blast. I am gonna run my 6er this winter if global warming doesn't end my dream of being an ice racer.

another ignorant statement

that mustang is a GT1, the dark spots are dirt thrown from the track as the mustang slid around the corner

SCCA Racing

drag racing costs a lot of money, both under the hood and in suspension, especially on a pro-level

$5k more than drag you said, lmao

it all depends how far you take it. you can take your stock car and race rally the same way you can take your stock car and drag

they have tons of stuff for rally.. not everyone prefers the simplicity of a straight line
