i got a mac cai on my 99 and i also had a small rubbing issue at the strut tower but i just wedged a little padded tape in there to fix it, but it definitly whitles at shifts and at WOT. I would try making my own before I bought one of those ebay kits... I too have been bugging JLT to make a 99-04 CAI, maybe one day.
