Ford Racing Lowering springs

Hi all,
new to this forum, as you probably will notice. i was looking at the ford racing lowering springs for my 2000 6er. It says 1-1.5 inch drop. I have a pypes dual exhaust, stock 15 inch wheels with some Goodyear assurance triple treads. i want to upgrade to 17" fr500's soon and i am wondering if this will all work together. It seems it will but i am nervous about how cheap these springs seem to be. I will also need struts and shocks, but the 2300 i spent on paint recently has kind of put a hurtin on the stang money. Any suggestions?

well, i just bought the ford racing c springs which i think are what you're talking about...and if they are you'll have no problem with em whatsoever. I just got mine about 2 weeks ago and they were in great cond. and they are fine on the car. plus, i wouldn't think you'd need new struts and shocks since your car is only a 2000. Mine's an 01 and i didn't replace mine nor did they need to be. So you could probably skip that if you're tight on money.

well i know i have to get struts and shocks, driving down a bumpy road confirms this. my suspension is shot, it needs major work. I drive around 500 miles per week for work through Chicago, which has horrid, atrocious roads. I just need to know if the standard NAPA ones will be ok or if i need a stiffer setup

Just for my own sake here, what exactly should I look at when I want to lower my stang?

So far here I've seen springs, shocks, and struts. Anything else?

C springs are okay they might not lower it as far as you want but other then that they are good springs...

if you go lower then 1.5 inches ... which the C springs don't but just saying... then you need caster camber plates to help re align the wheels

napa parts will work but if you wanna spend a couple of dollars more you can get some KYB, tokico, koni, eibach, or something like that

the thing is if you go past 1.5" they might not be able to adjust it far enough to get it back to stock ish settings...

either way after changing lots of suspension parts get it aligned

yeah...at the very worst you'll just wear your tires down a bit sooner but it really shouldnt be off too much if you are only changing springs and then get it aligned

If you want your C springs to give you a little more drop, you can cut some of the dead coil out. This is explained in the directions when you get the springs. As they are, Cs don't give you much of a drop. I cut ~220* out of the back springs and left the front isolators out which gave me about a 1.2" drop front and back.

With minimal tools you can do this in little time. However, I would not use a jack in the area they show (pumpkin) to raise the rear. Stress on the axle tubes in that area is not the best.
