Water Marks

i used to work at a carwash where i'd always have my car washed waxed by the workers there. Now that i dont work there i decided to wash my car myself. I diddnt bother to dry it well enough and now there're water marks all over my car. I've taken it to another car wash twice now and also hand waxed it with that mequiars gold class wax. It looks good from far away, but if you get close, the water marks are still visible. What do i need to do to get rid of these marks? Compound???? Clay Block????

That's why you always dry it in the shade!

try a little bit of white vinegar on a cotton towel.

other than that use a polishing compound and a buffer.

I've had a lot of water marks on my car for a while also. I went and picked up a bottle of turtle wax medium duty rubbing compound. That stuff works wonders on water marks and does a really good job on getting all the little specs of dirt from your paint.

Just take it easy on the first pass to see your progress, then make a couple more passes to get all of the marks off. It does take a bit of elbow grease to remove the compound with a clean rag, unless you've got a buffer.

I have some watermarks, that won't come out. I've even stripped all the wax off of it with some dawn dishwashing soap, and then claybarred it. It worked a little bit, but not enough. Try a rubbing compound or have it professionally detailed.

^ dish soap is a no no.

it has harsh abrasives in it that are bad for your paint.

I thought it was ok if there was wax...wich reminds me, verytime I get lazy and the watermarks come they are only on the wax. Either a claybarring or wash with a good quality car wash solution should do it

I use it to only strip down to the paint. It's something I rarely ever use.

try this, its what i used and its also good for fine scratches. If the water marks are really in there you might need to apply it a few times untill they are gone.

DONT USE RUBBING COMPOUND!
