spark plugs

1st off being a new member I'd like to say this site is the most useful thing I've found on the net, so I hope you can help.

I just replaced the spark plugs on my 99 v6 and although it runs when reved it cuts out just a little. Any ideas why?

After going back and checking the gaps, which are now correct at .054, I took it for a drive and under strain the motor was still cutting out. Along with the plugs I changed the plug wires. I was forced to take all of them off during the replacement after being sold the wrong kit. I found and used the diagram of firing sequence and cylinder numbers to put them back on. After that didn't work I matched the cylinders to the distributor which had cylinder numbers on it. Anyone have an idea of what next to try?

HMMM... .054? Did split-ports have a different gap than 5.0's and single port 3.8's??? My 5.0 and my single-port 3.8 are both spec'ed to a .045 gap...

HMMM again a quick google and I have found answers for both gaps. I guess I would go with what the spark plug manufacturer reccomends.
