Knocking noise on my 2002


My 2002 is making a knocking noise on the passenger side in back of engine. What can that mean? I have changed oil but cant figure it out...need some opinions on what it can be

it could be an exhaust leak

it could that you sucked a midget up your intake and now hes trying to get out...I would take the filter off

Well...when the car idles it knocks for a minute then it stops doesn't make no noise when i drive...very quiet!

is it more of a ticking... like a pen on a desk or like a loud metal on metal sound?

had the same prob with my 99 v6 and took it in it was on my header you no the thing hat bolts the header to the manifold was cracked hen they just welded it back then that knocking stoped and it was the back of the engine on the passenger side on the header they chergfed me 2 gours in labor?? so it was like 140 ish hope that helps bro

lifters or rods i would assume 1st....if its just a ticking when u start it up then kinda goes away i would say lifters...if its knocking then rods...

its def not rods if it goes away during driving, i say lifters.
