4,500 now. Turbo or Super

Long story short my parents and i got into a fight a week ago and they sent my supercharger back. Blah blah blah, now im reordering and reconsidering. Should i A) 11psi procharger kit from vmptuning. Or B) get a twin turbo set up from tmaturbo. or C) a single turbo set up from TMA turbo. The supercharger set up seems to be the most complete setup, which is why i got it. But now im thinking twice. Any opinions!

To be perfectly honest i dont know the full advantages of each, but am still leaning toward the procharger because its complete and has great reveiws. Im not sure what kind of power they can put out but the turbos SAY they can but out rediculous power.

I heard tmatubro doesnt make 3.8 turbos anymore. What do you guys suggest, i have $4,500 to play with not including shipping

Andy doesn't make kits anymore as you stated. Your best option is either custom fab turbo, or procharger/vortech (which are also your only FI options)

You could go nitrous or built motor instead also.

if i were you i'd go nitrous. there was a guy that used to go to my auto tech school he had a v6 before he made a 5.0 swap, did a nitrous route. with a 100shot and lots of tuning. said he made 13.1 with long tubes and other bolt ons. he almost bought a stroker v6 but he went v8.

you can hit 10s with nitrous and the right motor with the right tunning and shot

i CAN find a full turbo kit out there for $4k flat with shipping. and everythign you need for it.

im installing mine now. its really not as easy as it seems. i just stripped an engine to the bare block and rebuilt and thought that was easier...mainly cuz no tight spaces and headaches...and its not my engine.

PM me if you want to know...cuz this thread will probably get moved and i dont go on this site half as much because of certain new conditions i now dont like about this section..

Why isn't Andy making kits anymore? His site has an update listed yesterday (9.12.07) about the Viper kit.

EDIT: Moving on to Viper kits only. Too bad.

Now that summer is basiclly over, I'm getting the itch again to garage the car and start tearing shit off to mockup the new intake design and blowa. I think I'm going to need a taller hood scoop.

~$3k, but that did't include my time and research. :wink

To the OP:

I don't know what your mechanical skills are, but you could buy a really nice welder for $1k and have $3.5k left for piping, turbos, and the rest. I wonder if Andy would make his piping specs available since he's not doing the 6ers anymore.

yeah that's the toss up right now...do the roots type s/c or start buying pieces for turbo lil by lil and hopefully have everythin by summer.

? instead of doing all this should i just by a 4.2 motor? i'm about to put nitrous in and i wouldn't b able to run fi and n2o...right?

andy said he'll only be making off the shelf kits for vipers in the update right below it.......

ive talked to him about it HE MAY consider making a v6 off the shelf kit later like 1 every 3 months..but IMO it'd have to be auctioned off since at he used to do 1 a month.

do not email him about this
if your looking for a turbo kit PM me so i can find you one

next summer turbo kit? why are you even looking now? you have the cash..and i know where theres a new un-used one with lots of extras for $4k shipped!

i would love to do it now...but the reason i'm waiting until next summer is so i can save as much cash as i can and then once i file my taxes that'll put me right at where i need to be to buy the kit. and hopefully the 4.2.

if i don't the the new motor will i b able to run nitrous and single turbo off the factory block?

id go with that if i were u and the $4500. since tmaturbo is no longer up for v6s

yup forged internals like SSS said and the right cam with and tune you should be at like 370rwhpish depending on the porting and such as well as heads then 75 shot will take your torque sky high and hp about 75-80hp up
