The reason I say 96-98 is because most 94-95 5.0's you see have been beat pretty thoroughly. You can still find 96-98 that have been babied and are not too high in price. 94-95 are starting to go up in price for one that is in good shape. 99+ is def the way to if you have the money but for most of us older guys there's just something about a Foxbody that draws us to em like moths to a flame.

Yeha, thats a good point. I mean if you can find a fox body mustang that is in good shape and you like the looks that if def the way to go for an 8, if you plan on doing serious mods. a 99+ would be great, I think they look drop dead georgous, and have a good aftermarket as well. Like turp said, you are going to find more 96-98 4.6 mustangs that have been taken care of well, and no one has beat the shit out of, than you would of the 94-95 model years.

Yeah, I see the appeal of the older models, however I love (to death) the way the newer models look. I like the 99-2004 the most (which is a good thing as it's in my price range). The newest model looks great as well, but not as good as its predecessor. The Giugiaro Mustang looks bad, imo. I can see myself 20 years from now with my then-antique-looking car and my son and his ufo-like mustang. Ever wonder what cars will look like in 30 years from now?

I actually wasn't planning on getting a good car until last week. Thing is: I ALWAYS loved the way mustangs look - thought they were the hottest car on the road, but always thought that they cost 40k+. Then, just for kicks, I searched buysell and when I saw that it's only 10k for a 2000 model....I knew what car I was meant to have.

yeha the 99+ do look bad ass. I think you would be more than happy with a 99+ gt or mach 1. If you can afford one get one.
