Hood Scoop.

As you can see from the pic. of my car my hood has a cosmetic hood scoop. This may sound like a dumb question but would it be as simple as to cut a hole in the hood of my car and the bottom of the scoop to make it functional? Has anyone ever done this or know someone who had done this? I know it would make quite the difference in performance. Especially here in hot ass Florida.

All you would end up with is crap in your motor and lots of corrosion. The performance gains are nonexistent. You would be just as well taking the hood off completely. In other words DON"T DO IT!

I would say unless you are overheating a bunch and need the extra vent, then don't do it. If you do, put a screen in there to catch the leaves, dirt, birls, bugs, et cetera. The old days of a top mounted air cleaner on the engine are over.

Its not that it overheats its just I get a hell of alot better performance when it is more cool outside. So wouldnt a scoop make it really cool?

No because you don't bring air into the engine for combusiton there. If you had the functional shaker scoop, that is a different story.

CDC or MustangTuning.com. Like 750 or so for the entire kit.

For some reason I dont like the CDC hood...

Could you find like a wrecked Mach 1 and use the hood/scoop system on the 6? or no?

Fabricate up some brackets...All it does is set up there right? I know some people are putting KB SCer's on their Machs and keeping the Shaker hood (not fucntional anymore) but all they do is fab a braket...It just sits there...I think it could be done...Just take alittle bit of work...It would definately be cool...
