4:10 gear ratio

I was curious if anyone out there is running the automatic transmission in thier 2000-2003 model with 4:10 gears and if so what its like on the highway and in overall driving

you'll be fine running 410s on the auto V6...its just on a manual V6 they arent the best to choose 1st...because they dont rev higher like auto V6 and the V8s....

um, no

i dont know what youre trying to say. maybe that 1st gear is short on the 5-speed and it is useless w/ 4.10s? also, the auto v6 and 5-speed v6 rev to the same rpm. the 4.6 and modular motors rev higher and love steeper gears, but the 5.0 and 3.8 are pushrods and dont rev as high

to answer your Q, i have 4.10s on a 4r70w (same tranny as yours) and turn 3k rpms at 75mph on the highway. i have full bolt ons and still get 20mpg

4:10's are a great mod!

I def. Recommend them unless you plan on forced induction

what are you talking about? my car runs high 14s. the gears alone shaved .5 off my e/t. no other mod has done that. you are full of shit.

you are. compared to a 15.8, 15.3 is a big deal with one single mod. you obviously are full of shit if you dont know that

im not saying it isnt a big mod...but I would think the car should be in the 14s with that...thats all...I know me getting gears would make a difference...just the fact i can make a 15.3 pass with out a Tlok and gears and no LTs or pullies...something just seems to be missing...but i guess im full of shit with that too ? or didnt u see the video as well ?

what you run and where you run it is awesome. but the fact that you dog a .5 second difference mod makes you full of shit. my car ran 16s stock, so to be in the 14s is a hell of a jump for bolt ons. it is great that your car is faster than mine you are just full of shit

ok calm down you two.. its a good mod.. it creates the feeling of being put back in your seat alot better but doesn't actually generate horse power. but by consenses its one of the funnest mods to have done its also a pain in the ass if you don't know what your doing cause every mechanic will try to take all your cash for the easy installation.

with no other mods, i call bullshit. i would pay for you to get the 4.10s, t lok, install, and run it 3x at the track. if you didnt break 14.4, give me the money back plus 200 bucks.

I think you would love 4.10 gears, and like AB said .5 off your 1/4 mile will be a real help. I def reccomend them.
