CAI Comparison

Hey guys,

I'm looking into getting a Cold Air Intake for my 6'er. I've never actually installed one before even though it looks very straight forward. Can someone guide me on the difference between the following two? The only thing I notice is the Steeda is a name brand I recognize as opposed to the other. Is it worth spending the extra $125 for it? Also, what type of performance increases should I see now that I just put true dual exhausts on (or is it minimal)?

Mustang Cold Air Intake (V6) $75:

Steeda V6 High-Flow Air Kit $200:

hell no it isn't worth the extra 125 the steeda one is only the filter and mounting hardware... i would suggest getting a ebay CAI and go get a really gauze filter from a part store... such as K&N, Coolblue, etc.

I actually already have the K&N filter, so I guess that solves it - I wasn't sure if they were better known for CAI's. Will this make a noticeable difference in performance?

is this a trial and error type thing or is there a way i can find out which filter would be compatible with my car?

so this will get the job done just as well as the ones I posted from American Muscle?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/99-03...spagenameZWDVW

then head over to Auto Zone to buy a better filter?

or how about this one?

thats what i would do... the ebay filter might work just fine for you ... if you want you can try it or go get a new one... either way... CAI's are almost all the same... same size same purpose... just go with the cheap one... the only difference is the not ebay ones have a fancy name printed on the side

I know you're probably already set to buy an eBay one, but I thought I'd go ahead and say that I have the American Muscle one and it works great. The blue filter is cotton and washable and gives the nice whistle everyone always talks about... Went in without a hitch.

every CAI makes the whistle..

every CAI is the same

every CAI will give u just 3 h.p

only difference... its like a buying a jordan sneaker.. making it can cost just 10 bux but when the jordan logo is on it cost 120 or more..

yeah.. but some ebay cai come with holley (blu filters i think) wich are made from cotton just like the K&n..

still if the cai says its cotton i wouldnt change it to K&n why waste 50 bux(in the K&n filter) on just 1 h.p not worthy for me..
