For starters...
Hello,
New here.. I am going to take the leap and buy a 2005/07 V6! I've test driven a lot of vehicles to replace my Jeep Grand Cherokee (including newer jeeps) and so far the pony has got me. So most likely I am going to buy a navy blue v6 w/ the pony package.. I loved driving it (I am going to request a longer test drive next time) What I need to know is what kind of money am I looking at walking into this for upgrades and toys? I know the V6 is no GT but I want to have some fun with it. What should I do first once I warm up to her? I'm not a huge motor head (I work computers) so I might be clueless about some things. as for upgrades.. I want to do them slowly, cheaper stuff first and build it up over time.. and I want to keep the fuel economy about the same, need to drive it for an hour to work 5 days a week! Thanks! |

1000 dollars and you could surprise a few stock GT's.
SCT Xcalibrator 2- $380 3.73/4.10 gears & Tlok - $500 installed Good intake- $150-$200 You can kick pre 99 mustang gt's in the balls with that small amount of $$$$$. |

thanks!
i'm going to try to get the car today. cross your fingers. if i can't get it today i have to wait 2 to 3 months, and HOPE they have one similar to the one I tried yesterday. *edit* Oh!, um I read something about the tires not being as good as they should be, should those be towards the top of the "replace" list? |

I don't know about the tires, but lock up the rear end to get both wheels hooking. I have a bolt on v6 that runs with 99-04 GT's, so it can be done cheaply.

You will want fatter and stickier rear tires with a trac lok/gear set for sure. I would spin the hell out of my stock 15" 205mm tire knowing I can still hit the gas and turn over my 315mm tire through 2 gears in an automatic tranny v6- on dry road!
