Gear Set Comparison and RPM CalculatorClick AOD/AODE Can be classified as 4R70W transmissions for all you Automatic Guys. For the T5 Guys your match or closest to would be the T5(85-89) Unsure what type of tranny your ford has?? Check this out! Click

There are many different things to know when choosing a gear for your car, such as what rpm am i at X speed, how much gas do i use, etc.
Well with the link provided you can get a rough idea but if you have a 5 speed, the above link doesn't have the correct transmission. The closest you can get is an 85-89 T5 for the 5.0 but still it has a few things that are off a bit. This following chart shows the year of car, the gear options that are most popular, and what the stock gear ratio in the transmission is. Also The redlines for both models have been factored in accordingly and will show the top speed for said gear ratios. Models |--------------------| SN-95 (1) |------| SN-95 (New Edge)| |Transmission Ratio|--| 3.73 |--- | 4.10 | -----| 3.73 | --- | 4.10 | 1. 3.35 / 3.35 ---------| 27 |------| 25 |-------| 41 | -------| 37 | 2. 1.93 / 1.99 ---------| 47 |------| 43 |-------| 69 | -------| 63 | 3. 1.29 / 1.33 ---------| 71 |------| 64 |-------| 104 |------| 95 | 4. 1.00 / 1.00 ---------| 92 |------| 83 |-------| 139 |------| 126| 5. 0.72 / 0.68 ---------| 126 |-----| 114 |-----| 204 |------| 186| Now just because that chart says that you can reach that speed doesn't mean that it will happen. These are all theoretical number that don't take friction, heat, and resistance into affect, but if you were to manage to redline it in 5th gear with 3.73's out back you would be real close to 200 mph. Again this is for the manual transmission only. If you have an automatic you need to use the 4R70W transmission in the link that is given above.
