Another exhaust size ?

So, if my headers exit at 2.5 but it is not good to run 2.5 all the way back, what should I do? I don't really like the idea of having part 2.5 and the rest 2.25, but that might be the right move. How about 2.5 with crush bends and a bit restrictive muffler? Or how about 2.5 to the cats, and 2.25 for the rest? Im just asking and im open for suggestions. I really wanna get a kit from Summit with 2.5' tubing and mandarel-bent tubing, but ill probably regret that.

why do you want crush bends?

get mandrel bent pipes that fit your application. why not run 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel piping?

crush bends are restrictive
too small of pipes is restrictive
too large of pipes causes loss of backpressure

just get a 2.5" mandrel bent stainless steel exhaust setup from the headers back

I want 2.5 inch tubing but im trying to find a way to not lose so much low end. I was thinking that the bit of restrictions from the crush bends might help with that loss. The collector on the MAC LT headers is 2.5 inches. I have 2.5 inch to 2.25 inch right now and I don't like it.

DO NOT GET CRUSH BENDS!

just get the 2.5" pipes. it isnt so open that you will lose so much backpressure. you will gain much more hp throughout the upper power band rpms, and when you race you are at 4k plus rpms.

I now realize that this low end loss just moves the power-band up. I thought the low-end loss was simply a loss. I wish I would have realized this before.

Do you see anything wrong with this kit?

Id rather just buy the mufflers and have them welded up, but i've looked everywhere and nobody does mandarel-bent tubing around here.

ya you could do that and then if you want flows sell the mufflers that it comes with on ebay and buy some flows to have welded up
