Installing tomorrow! and my gas mileage!

Tomorrow I have no school and no work this happens every 100 years, so I'm taking advantage of it! I posted a few days ago about my car problems. (cold start takes for ever to turn) People have suggested the following:
air filter change
fuel filter change
spark plug change
sea foam the engine (not sure about this but might try it if I see it at the store)
I have a few questions, (1)I'm planning on buying a cheap CAI off ebay so will a air filter change be a waste of money? (2)Are fuel filters universal or do they come in different sizes?(3)Can I change the fuel filter with out raising the car?

I just did a test this week by driving around normally and wrought down how many miles I got went to the gas station filled it back up, wrought down how much i just put in. Then sub tracted that from 15 (which is the gas tank size in gallons, correct ?) then took how many miles I got and divided it by the amount of gas I just put in and got 18mpg. Is that normal or what? (I wasn't flooring it in this test either, my rpms where no more then 2k the full test)

its a 16 gallon fuel tank... there are different fuel filters for different cars but any autoparts store can tell you which one you need.... i have not personally used seafoam but from what i have heard it works...... and i dont think you can change the fuel filter without lifting the car up becuase of how low it is but i havent replaced mine on my mustang but i dont know for sure.... buy a K&N air filter and then buy a cheap CIA off ebay and put the K&N filter in it.

hopefully some of that helps

1. ?
2. get the motorcraft fuel filter. its like 9 bucks online but like +20 at the dealer. you can also get a fram or wick from your local auto parts store. make sure its for YOURE car
3. you can just crawl under your car if your not fat. its btwn the rear end and the gas tank.

dont buy a $50 CAI. buy one of the really cheap ones then go to an auto parts store and buy a K&N air filter and you have the exact same thing as a $50 one. and yes it will make the "swirrley air noise"

lol swirly air noise, mine makes a loud one of those, but anyway yes, the filter can be change without lifting it up, but be careful changine it if you dont know how to because you can break the fuel line, some have clips that hold them in, some use a tool, others use wrenches on both sides, and some just come off with a screw driver, ive had a few experiance with ebay intakes, the twenty dollar ones have a bout 30 dollars worth of shipping???and the 30 dollar ones usally only have 10 dollar shipping, and just buy some zmax or something to clean up the engine, and rilstone compression restore, that stuff works amazing

I change my fuel filter twice a year, and mine needs a 3/8's disconnect tool to get the filter out

there is nothing "wrong" with them they just dont flow as well as the K&Ns do, but the filter that comes with it will work

No.

If its the blue air filter then no.

Either way they flow more cfm than your engine needs.

well friday came with rain all day so I was unable to work on car. instead I went out with some friends. I told them about CAI im getting they said to not get the cheap $20 ones off ebay because they wont fit my car, is this true?

I also told them what im going to do to my car (sparkplugs, filters...) they told me to just get a tune up. So what does a tune up have included in it? Can I do a tune up by my self?
