Will a manual motor fit an automatic please help fast

Ok so after searching for months i finalyl found a 4.2 for my mustang, but it came from a manual f150 and my mustangs is automatic. THey are the same year and all that matches up, the only thing i dont know is if it matters that the engine came from a manual and im putting it in an automatic????? Please i have to know very soon.

Well i didnt think so but i was looking at posts for other cars and it semmed like there were a few differences between the manual and the automatic engines

the motor is not manual or automatic - the transmission is. any engine can be fitted to be with an automatic or manual tranny. there is no specific "automatic motor" or "manual motor"

there is only one thing that is between the tranny and the engine ...it's round about an inch in diameter...you have to take that off ..but that;s the only thing...I dont know what it's called but I remember we had to take the one from my old engine and put it on the new one since the new one was automatic and I had the manual

bell housing??

...

the only thing is you need to transfer all auto parts over... the flex plate ... maybe the starter... the tranny... all the bolts and what not...

also you might need to tune your engine too

not really you don't need the computer its the same block and all ... a hand held tune will make it work perfect

the wiring harness for the tranny/sensors

don't forget you have to have a clutch pedal installed also, probably the most work involved there
