Need to make a decision...

Okay I have had my '95 3.8 for about 2-3 months and the head gasket blew (yay thats fun)...I have been planning to upgrade to a 5.0 for last few week do you think this would probably be a good time to do it. And how much do you think it would cost to get a 5.0 engine (doesn't have to be new)?
