98 3.8L Auto gears and tlok

My daily driver is a 98 V6 auto, and i've been looking into performance options and i've come to gears. If i changed the gears i would go with the 4.10's and tlok, but i was wondering if i could just get a tlok differential and save money but still get off the line without roasting a tire. im on a very limited budget and a fan of DIY work, so does this sound good or am i just confused

Yeah, for a $200 labor job, why half-ass it? Gears cost an extra $150, so save up a little more and treat yourself to a good time.

400 for gears, t lok, and instal kit
400 for sct xcal 2
200 for instal
I think I had mine all done for about 900-1000 dollars.

i didnt wanna start another thread on this since there already is alot but i have found a site for gears...now im going with the 4.10s and a tlok but i have two options

1. Motive
2. Ford Racing

now heres the thing im thinking about going motive because there 100 greens cheaper and im tight on money...though the tlok of both brands is the same amount of money my question is are motive good?

139.99 frpp gears
139.99 frpp t lok
379.99 sct xcal-2
200 professional install

If you can't get or beat these prices, you don't belong in the business world.

you need to shop around. that place is ripping people. the suggested list price from Ford for those gears is only $184.00
