transmission.................why god?????
k. transmission went out. its a little over a year old rebuilt. but heres what im wondering. 3rd and 4th gear went out first. and 1&2 still worked but after awhile they went out too, when they did i turned the car off where i was stranded 3 miles from my house, i unhooked the battery and hooked it back up then first and second worked again until i stopped again. i had to do this about 4 or 5 times but i made it. wtf? is the transmission blown or a sensor anyone know? also i need a really cheap solution im short on cash theres noway i can afford to get another rebuilit tran.

it was a 6 month 6000 mile warranty. i know for 1200$ you think they would have given a little more on it. but my grandparents did that b4 i got the car so it was out of my hands.

I wanna switch mine for a 5-speed but i cant find a good t-5 in any junkers.. but i imagine that the pedal assem is the same in gts and sixers but i pulled a bullit's pedal assem and now looking for a living t-5 and 8.8 rear-end v.v just for the sexyness that if one day i wanna go 300+hp which would be forevers.. any ways sorry for thread jack. ford trannys tend to go out and die.

If you can get a T56 to fit the 6er now, that would be a good upgrade. The stock T5s are only rated for ~300ftlbs. So once you do a power adder you're really pushing the T5. The T56 is good for over 400ftlbs (500 I think). Plus you get the extra gearing where with taller rear gears will bring back some highway fuel economy. Compare the price of the T56 to a built T5. After that, how much difference is there in price?
