power options... again...

Hey so as some of you might now I was planning on twin turboing my v6.

But now I don't think I want to the price is just crazy...

I want to see what other options I have to gain power. I don't want nitrous now... probably later. But now I just want to see what I can't get. I probably don't want to get over 500 hp cause of cost wise. So I'm thinking like maybe a little more then 400 cause ill also be carring a sound system and 20's

What do you guys think I could do and be best?

How much of a budget do you have?

Even getting to 400 will cost a pretty penny.

At the minimum:
Built engine
Built tranny
Built rear-end
t-trim if Vortech, D-1SC if Procharger or a descent size turbo.

I would think built rear end if your gonna spin 20s ....

Since it seems you have an 05+ they make some single turbo kits for your car that would get you to 400 more efficiently.

Tell me about time and money. I have been working on my car for over 8 years now with over $20,000 in mods, and I am still not done.

Its a personal thing. If I was you I would try and find people that have owned both and see what they say. Or you could talk to some people in your area that has a supercharger and go for a ride, same thing with a turbo. See if they would let you drive them. See if you can determine which one you would like better.

Personally I like superchargers, I think they are street friendlier.

Which one sounds louder?
Just wondering

And... won't a turbo have a lot more lag then a supercharger?

Define sound? Exhaust the way it idles and revs?

If you by the correct sized turbo with dual ball bearings, lag really isn't a factor like it use to be. Just to let you know, the ball bearing cost a lot.

Will then would it be better for a supercharger? I guess I need some help choosing

I also want it to be loud when its idle and reving. Just loud all the time.

What would be a better performance/price ratio? For power.... turbo, supercharger ect....

an agressive cam

thatll give that 6 a nice roar.

aluminum heads.
port and polish your uppers and lowers.

bigger throttle body.

lighter rods and lifters.
eliminate the ac pump
Ud pulleys.

bore and stroke the motor.
Up the injector size. New fuel pump and lines.

I choose a cam for performance and could care less about sound. We have a v6 and won't ever sound like a GT.

Our heads are already aluminum.

When he does add a power adder, fuel upgrades are a must and common sense.

I do not agree with just get a turbo and be done.

Agreed with the performance before sound.

Where do you get more then 8 grand for either. He can buy a Procharger with an upgraded head unit with all the trimmings for around 5K, that includes a tune and wideband.

The rims would be affecting the horsepower, the sound system is just dead weight. For every 10 lbs that is rotational weight, IE rims, you lose .1 in the 1/4, its the same with dead weight, except it takes 100 lbs for that same .1. So your rims will kill you more then anything.

you should get some 17-18inch racing rims . making it hella nice and tryna get into 10's wont happen and from what i know S/C cost more in the long run . i know you said no nitrous but it should be better for cheaper price . also you planning to get forged internals or run low boost
