$1700 parts list

ok so i have a 2003 3.8L mustang that i dont drive during the winter so ive finally decided im going to buy a few parts and start a winter project. my budget is about $1700. this is what im planning on buying so far.

BBK cold air intake
BBK 65mm throttle body
MSD super conductor wires
NKG Iridium spark plugs
NKG oxygen sensor (close to replacement time)
MAC 1 5/8" long tube headers
MAC offroad h-pipe
Flowmaster Super 40 Series mufflers
Sniper Special Forces tuning software and interface
Eibach ProKit lowering springs
Mustang GT rear bumper cover (sweet cutouts)

i dont know if an x pipe would be better than an h pipe so if anyone knows about that that would be helpful. also any ideas and/or opinions are apriciated.

thanks

X pipe = better flow h pipe = better sound. the 65mm TB is pointless unless u got ur intake porter to match. and id go with copper plugs not iridium.

ok, i think ill stick with the h pipe then cuz i really dont want it to sound like a pos honda. would this make enough extra power to cause the clutch to slip?

nah...

a ebay cai will do the same things as a BBK one..

Pnp for a 65 t.b a bigger t.b will not do anything unless u port and polish..
i'm tired of giving this example but o well here ya go..

the door is the t.b and the ceiling the intake and the t.v is the air..

u got this 4 ft tall door and 4ft tall ceiling with a nice lil t.v. But then u decide to ge into a bigger badass plasma T.v but it cant go thru the door.. so u go and buy another door this one being 8ft still the plasma will not fit cause ur ceiling is still 4ft tall..

u understand?

don't do the heads quite yet... you need a bit more power before you do the heads... meaning you need more air going into the engine or you will lose so much torque down low... ohter wise it sounds good... if you want you can save your self some money and just stay with the stock intake for a while and get your uppers and lower ported by a member of this site for a good price...

here is an idea... don't do anything related to the intake ... yet... port and polish first ... spend about $400 on it... which would be roughly how much your paying for that mac stuff... and have your intakes ported... then talk around this site see if any one has a used throttle body for sale... and buy and ebay intake... it will cost you bout $100 for both of those used... then your better off

How is porting the heads going to kill low end torque? It will help with everything across the power bad. The engine is nothing but a oversized air pump. More air you can get in to it, more power there is.

it will kill the low end torque because there is a loss of pressure in the system... i know its a big pump ... but if you don't have the supporting mods to push the air in then you will lose the whole vacuum affect that the engine causes...

You may wanna stop now, its better to walk away and live to fight another day! But in your case you may want to consider retirement.
