Anyone else ever had this happen?

When I went to drive my car the other day I noticed a strange noise and vibraton coming from what I thought to be the transmission. It would mostly happen after accelerating from a stop. I origanlly thought it was coming from the transmission but when I got into the car one day I heard this rattle from under the car almost like a small bell. Turns out the giant weight on the output shaft of the transmission had broken free and would rattle around at low speeds but lodge back in place at higher speeds. I ended up just pulling the drive shaft and sliding it off. The car is fine but just wondering if anyone else ever had this happen?

Isn't that the driveshaft vibration dampener? They're affixed to the yoke by rubber to help with NVS.

Yes it is , it's not a crucial part though and there is no resulting vibration from removing it. It appears that it just broke free of the rubber.
