This may sound stupid...


but how do you shut the hood? I had problems with this before when I removed my air silencer I try pressing it down wont go down.. Even the guys where I have my oil done can't figure it out takes like 3 minutes of constant messing around with to go down.... their is that latch/handle thing that I move around then try to shut but nothing..

make sure your latch is reset back to the position it should be in...

If there is anything blocking the way of the hood, the latch, or the equipment that holds up the hood it wont shut properly... after you have checked all these things then to make sure nothing is in the way then you need to check the hood bump stops... they are at the front of the car near the lights, when the hood is open. make sure those are screwed all the way in close the hood and take note on what adjustments need to be taken to make the hood and fender line up, by adjusting the bump stops

if that doesnt work
hold the hood abt chest high
and give it a little push going down
dont slam it, just a little push
thats what i have to do w/ mine

got it down thanks guys. I was afraid of holding it chest high and givin a little push because it might break some thing, but it worked.

just takes some force sometimes. the latches on the 99-04 mustangs especially suck

thats what i do, only without the mush, gravity from just high takes care of the push for me
