motor swap need info

im looking at a 2000 3.8 and want to put a 96 DOHC 4.6 out of a lincoln. i have a limited budgget but i have the motor and a cobra tranny that i was told will bolt up? i would like as much info as possible. how much of the electrical is different? is it worth the trouble? would i get more bang for my buck with just putting in a SOHC 4.6 out of a 99-04

the electronics should work, you will have to modify a couple wires and might have to add a few. the trans will bolt up, but will need a k-member and cross member.
