Positive Crank Ventilation... thats what pcv stands for ... honestly i can see that freeing up a lil bit of vacuum can maybe have some benefits but they put that on cars for a reason... to suck all the miscellaneous gases out of the top of the valve covers... and this idea has been around for ever...

now on the other hand i have heard of and EGR delete being slightly beneficial too ... might look into that

ya i was looking around and i found that deleting the pcv valve on v6 mustangs between 99 and 2004 actually help the engine run cleaner because it happens to suck oil into the intake.

also it throws off the air fuel ratio because it lets unmeasured air into the engine because they dump into the intake after the airflow sensor.

still not sure about the performance benefit...

99-00 they had a pcv issue where it was tossing oil into the intake causing a misfire on cyl 3 and 6 the 2001 valve cover was modified to prevent this. also on a low vacume situation the pcv valve closes for example under WOT.

PS> the air the pvc valve vents from the crank case IS metered by the maf. if u didnt know the PCV has an intake tube after the MAF by the TB

here is a good read for any one who dont know the purpose of the PCV system. its beneficial to your car you MUST have a way to vent crank cast gazes or it WILL dammage your engine. but there are more ways to vent crank case gazes effectively with out the use of a PCV valve :wink
