Death of a V6

Well as you all know I lost #2 cylinder coming home the other day on my 95. Changed plugs and wires and no dice, plus when I pulled the plug there was oil ALL over the damn thing. Compression test revealed #2 is #1 in lost pressure. Time for a new motor. Thinkin about boring the block over and going to some larger pistons at right around 4.2L disp. Then again I have always wanted to do a supercoupe swap. I am open to all suggestions as mama gave me the green light for project phoenix. You never know where I might end up maybe even a turbocharged B26... Wait that was in some movie Any suggestions???

That's what I told my wife about a possible girlfriend but she kinda got pissed.

So 4.2 =1
Supercoupe = Nada

I thought the supercoupe motors and the XR7 motors were the exact same.

I don't know if they are or not honestly.

I know they share the same blower.

I'm pretty sure they are the same. I know in 90( or somewhere close) they went to the teflon coated rotors and made the blower a little beefier

Not much on starting threads as an ongoing update maybe a blog on M-space but that would be it. I will def. take alot of pics no matter what I do. This will not a project that will start right away maybe when the weather gets cold and I get my garage back from my wife and her Jag.

Yeah man I had to replace my cylinder heads about a year and a half ago. Let me guess your V6 was between 60-80K. When I bought the car the mechanic I had look at it told me that every '95 Ford 3.8L engine had the same problem, and would need to get the cylinder heads replaced sometime between 60 an 80K. And sure enough...right in that range is where it happend. It wasn't cheap, but I got it fixed. I wish I had had more money at the time I would have had them bore the cyclinders out, but it was all I could afford just to get it fixed. I'm pretty sure it would be cheaper to fix the engine that you've got. Ford might tell you the engine is shot, but that is bullshit...it can be fixed for around $1200.00. However, if you're not the one paying for it...yeah get the V8.

Turp- I would suggest that you bore and stroke that bad boy and while you are at it ... step the cam up and all that goes along with it... make sure you get forged pieces. from there you should look into a supercharger now if you really like the eaton M90 of the super coupes you can look here

http://www.magnumpowers.com/

its the exact same blower and they might even offer kits, im not sure. but you just gotta tweak the compression a bit when you get those heads off and to get some lower compression

If your on a budget s/c swap
