=( blown head gasket

k so everynow and then my car would throw out some white/blue smoke...
could only be 2 things...i thought it was blow by...
today i looked at my coolant..brown and rusty...the coolant isnt but a month old.
started the car rev'd the engine...white/blue smoke came out and some liquid on the floor right at my exhaust tip

so i move the car smell the liquid...sure enough it smells like coolant.
=/ this really sucks since i gotta take out my crossover pipe. my turbo headers and some of my exhaust dump...the hardest pieces of my turbo kit to put on.

im looking around to see where i wana get my gasket kit from.
anyway since i'll have to remove my whole top end. i'll be doing a some porting to the intakes....SLIGHT porting.

and i'll throw up some pics of everything.

Wait so your saying you found the explanation for the blue smoke then? cause the drain hose backin up isnt going to make coolant come out your exhaust or turn your coolant to brown soup.

arp head studs ftw

sorry to hear bout the blown gasket btw, boost isnt always your friend

its not a head gasket

the drain hose off the turbo must go straight to to the oil pan with out an uphill climbs. if it does then it'll build up and actually burn in the turbo having smoke come out the exhaust. which is white/blue smoke. coolant is actually pure white. Although i thought burn coolant made the same color.

anyway im trying to cancell my order...

i was going to do the head gasket my self...i dont trust ANYONE with my engine, especially now. this is a huge relief since all i have to do is take off a fitting. cut it. and re-route it. not to mention its free. just need some teflon tape which i already have.

oh and the porting...i'll try to see on a day off if i can at least port my throttle inlet to my 65mm throttle body. im running rich anyway so i doubt the very little bit of extra air i'll get will highly effect it.
i need a frickin a/f gauge.

also there was really no reason for the head gasket to go. usually that happens when a car is running lean...mine was the opposite.

also big thanks to andy for helping me out with the hose.

to bad he doesnt make kits anymore...he's got very good customer service. always is helping out.

You said your coolant was brown and rusty, you cant just rule that out, and it doesnt get that way through other means

if coolant is burning you may or may not see white smoke. i had a blown head gasket but no coolant actually made it into the exhaust. Friend blew a gasket on his 4runner and it belched out white smoke. it just depends. If your just burning oill through the turbo it would be blue, no white smoke. I'd know, my friend had this issue with his supra.

your car doesnt have to be running too lean or too rich to blow a head gasket, too much boost will do that as i said. Go have your coolant tested for the presence of hydrocarbons

i emptied my coolant again to see if anytthing changes. when i installed the turbo the coolant in the engine never came out
i didnt do a full flush...im hoping/guessing its that
i'll see by tomorrow for sure. havnt played with it tonight. i just fixed the hose.
the smoke has stopped and the smoke was pretty much blue. wasnt really whtie white...

idk im looking in to rotating assemblies at delk. $1400 for a full forged kit with a CR as low as 8:2:1...i'll probably get 8:5:1..SCAT forged rods, steel forged crank and forged piston with the compression ratio i just mentioned.

then a stage 3 power pak from SSMS. double roller timing chain....possible electric water pump.
lots of things on the list. hoping to start at the begining of summer.

Unless your planning on this being your weekend car only you don't want an electric pump on a DD.
