Exhaust Hangers
When converting to a after market h-pipe and GT cat-back are a new set of hangers for the second muffler required or do they come with most GT cat-back kits? Also do the cat-back kits come with the bracket to hold the new second exhaust tip? I've always wanted to to exhaust but only now do I have the spare cash to do so.

you will need to buy the hanger kit, but an easier solution is to go to a shop and have them make you a custom set up

that price on that set up is way expensive, your better off having a shop do it, just buy flowmaster 40s or get them at the shop

well you cant use the stock hangers for your single exaustbut if the kit comes with anger i don't know you should call them and find out
if it does not go out and get some then u should be good to go but do not d owhat the priveas owner of my car did and weld the kit 's hanger to the body

Yeah i had thought about that as well, but I don't want to run cats so I don't think to many shops are down with cutting cats off. Since technically that is illegal even though we don't have to pass emissions tests. Well at least thats the impression i got from a friend, but i could be mistaken.

its illegal in the US for a shop to cut or alter the cats, most shops will not do it because if ther get cause its like a $25000 dollar fine, thats what the guy at an exhaust shop told me

that is what i have heard they can only do somthing if they are dameged

Yeah thats what I had heard also, but I have the facilities to do the work myself, lift, welder, all that fun stuff, but I was just wondering if anyone of you guys had to buy the hanger kit when yall did yalls conversion. I dont want to get he parts and be all excited and then have to wait on freaking hangers to get in so i can bolt it all up.

you HAVE to have the hanger kit or there will be nowhere to hang the exhaust on the passenger side

well the other salotionm is to pull ur exaust and drive to a shop like that and then they should be able to fab u up with out a problom

on 99-04 there is a spot on the passenger side to bolt another hanger to directly across from the driver side ..i guess when they built the cars they made them the samew as gts except without the extra stuff but built the same..

I bought the whole flowmaster dual exhaust kit from the cad converter back. It came with hangers to use. So maybe look into that.
It was 420, Got it from summit racing.

andrew, are you getting an offroad H pipe and gt catback (off of the gt)? i think you can still get the oem hanger kits from ford. all aftermarket cat backs come with all necessary hardware (includes all 4 hangers needed for cat back). if it is an ebay or private deal, you need the hangers from ford.
