I hear all this talk about how much body roll, but from my own experience, it isn't too bad. I have no sway bars, but am lowered with C springs, which puts the front end lower than the rear, and I have no severe rolling issues and have no idea how you can roll a car with a c/g as low as a lowered mustang and won't pull the inner front wheel off the ground because I have a loose setup. I just don't see how everyone says nay, yet there are no appearant issues with my setup... from personal experience...

Then you have been lucky and prolly dont drive your card hard through the twisties...Its seriously not worth the weight reduction to take it off...But that is just opinion...But I have seen really low SN95's roll over in the twisties...

AB's set up really doesnt roll that much at all, trust me, he is fine the way he is. He has tried to lose his rear end in a corner right when he took it off and the car dint oversteer or roll enough to make it dangerous at all(i live in the same neigborhood for all those that dont know...)

Also, if you are going to do circuit racing or autoX dont just put on the stock sway bar, use aftermarket front and rear ones, the stock front sb makes the car understeer way too much

some people may use stock or take off sway bars to remain within a particular class and not get matched with the heavily modifed cars. if you think the understeer is too much for the factory swaybar what do you think a beefer swaybar is gonna do to it. i rather have understeer than oversteer... and from ab's video it appears to have a lot of body roll, not sure if that is the camera angle or what.

that is the farthest it gets, and that is in the acceptable realm. check out this stock no sb body roll on a 900(these cars handle very well without them and get amazing traction for any road conditions, they just might feel a little less responsive)

and by after market i mean they(get front and rear) could be beefier, less beefy, or preferably adjustable; or you could just get a rear one to even the rear up with the thick sb'ed front(on a budget)

and if a sb takes you out of a class, then of course dont do it unless you are planning for furture mods in the very near future

also, why would you rather have US rather than OS? For experienced drivers slight OS is safer and makes faster lap times due to the fact that you can correct the actual direction your car is headed rather than just regaining traction (maybe) and having an "off"
maybe extreme US is safer than extreme OS, but if tuned right OS is always better.(for me and for race car drivers anyway)

yeah but the original poster is not lowered like ab's car, so add the oe 4x4 springs ontop of that and see how much fender gap it produces? i assume different racers have their own preferences, the U/S would allow you to get on the throttle sooner coming out of the coner, also the affects of a mistake (timeloss) when driving a U/S car compared to O/S car's are less. i would think most racecar drivers like NASCAR perfer O/S because they are also running on a banked curve not to mention dialed in on a particular speed range where they can push the car to it's limits.

And anyone who does autoX(depends on wet or not of course!) or rally or most anything else, of course people have preferences, but in most racing apps SLIGHT off throttle OS(rear just BARELY loses traction before front) is far more desirable(you can correct without losing as much time in comparison to US and tighten line easier), but in the case of on throttle US it is worhtless, a car needs to at least be balance enough to be able to OS rather than US with any on throttle.(i believe the stock V6 has on throttle US, well, at least it is unbalanced and inteneded for everday person street use only)

also, if you read in my previous posts I said that if you have a nonlowered stang with stock dampeners leave it on, I just said take it off if you have a set up like AB's and only wish to drag(or do dougnuts! lol)

i took mine off and i have stock springs and i did have significant body roll.. it was something you could get use to if you wanted when it was dry out but when it got wet then you could barly take a corner without the back in wanting to slide out from under easily. i wouldn't recommend for DD with stock shock set up

yeah, but if you lower your car with stiffer springs(and shocks maybe) id either remove it or fit in some ones that will give your car better handling characteristics

sorry i did overlook your post about ab's car being lowered! when the mustang 4-link is pushed to it's limits there can be a serious side product with suspension binding called snap oversteer, i do note that some racers prefer the lift throttle oversteer but a understeer car tends to be more user friendly and not to many people here are running the road course. this is one reason the stock cars are designed with massive understeer, to keep some idiots alive. i don't know much about the 900's, but i would assume they are RWD?
