mods to my v6..

[color=blue]i have a 2000 gt with a v6.. (the owner before me swaped the engine to a 6 and kept the 8) has everything a gt would except under the hood. any suggestions on what all to do?? this is mmy first mustang so yeah.. still learning the ropes

your positive that everything on there(just the rear is different and tires and computer) is GT?
cause its gonna be some usless work to swap to a v6

welcome to the forums..

if your car is a GT.
buy a 4.6 (DOHC)and drop it in.

if the moter realy is the only thing he took i would say that u could do a realy easy swap to a ve just by the engine and drop it in

however i dought that is the case so for starters u should giger out what u have on ur car
i.e. rear axle, k member, wheels, computer, whiering,

he took the 8 when he sold it cuz he had some work done to it.. replaced it with the 6 strictly to sell it. and yeah everything else on it belongs to the orig 8. definitely want cold air intake but have no clue what else.. already have dual exhaust being that it was a v8 once upon a time. adding flowmasters next week. all suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

u realy should put a v8 back in it it should be easy and hell u probaly r paing v8 incerance prices because that is what the car is regestered as

yeah thats what i was thinkin too.. quote for brand new 8 with labor is 4000 at ford dealer which isnt too bad. also found a rebuilt 8 for only 2250.

$4k for a new engine...might as well drop another G for a 5.0...better engineto work with

also you can get the 4.6 online cheaper

4.6 DOHC has more potential then a 5.0 plus you have to change the K member back for a 5.0

4.6 dohc is different then the SOHC from 99-04
and the 4.6 DOHC is a cobra motor or the new 3v GT motors
