will i need a speedo recal?

ive got a 2007 v6 mustang with stock 16" wheels, will i need a speedo recal if i upgrade to 18s?

NO NOT TRUE!, if u get the right size tire on the 16 it will be the same diameter and will be fine....

u dont have to do it do you? i kno u dont have to on the 99-04...its off by a couple mph but not enough to do all that

well im goin from 215/65R16 to (255/45-18)

if 65% of 215mm = 45% of 255mm and add 3" to the diameter of the 45% of 255, then you dont need a speedo recal

.65(215) + 15(24.5) = .45(255) + 18(24.5)

if those mm add up, youre good

139.75+367.5 = 507.25
114.75+441 = 555.75

thats a difference of 48.5mm (a little less than 2"). you wont need a recal, but you will be slightly off at higher speeds

as i said: larger tires make your speedo read lower than you are actually going. this is common physics. perhaps you have a smaller tire than before, or you are wrong.
