headers and mid pipe

Well since I can't do the turbos for a while I'm just gonna n/a until I have the budget to do so. Well I'm gonna do a full exhaust from the headers back. I'm gonna for some JBA shorty headers. First I don't know if I should go with air injection or w/o I need to know what to check, and also I need to find a catted h-pipe that will work with shorties and a cat back. So what do ya guys say? Need some help doin this scavanger hunt. Oh yea my exhaust is rusted and there is a small hole in my muffler...so why not just change it all?

i know at rpmoutlet.com they have catted h-pipes that work w shorty headers for about 200 bucks, then you will need oxygen extentions too, which are about 40 bucks

I found a catted x-pipe that I don't know if it works for shorty or not, if I could find some equal length than I think I would get them instead of shorty.

I found this direct replacement pypes catted x-pipe for about $200. So I think I might go with that.

you wont need o2 sensor extenders for a short H pipe unless for some reason the front 2 sensor bungs are down past the parallel to ground bend. you will need mil eliminators if you run no cats, or a proper tune can eliminate a need for rear oxygen sensors.

if you are doing a turbo setup, shorty headers inverted will work fine, so a long midpipe is what you need for the interim

I was wondering if I could just invert the headers later on, but my prob is finding a long midpipe that will work with them on for a n/a application right now. I was wondering if the catted x-pipe that rpmoutlet.com has from pypes would work or not.

if it is not labeled a "shorty" midpipe, chances are it is a long one. just call or email the companies if you have specific Q's. what i would do if you plan a turbo route later is just get an offroad H pipe or X pipe to fit the stock headers (the 96-98 3.8 factory cast headers flow well) and just get mil eliminators for the time being. you can invert the headers no problem for turbos...

I would love to go o/r, but sadly VA wont legally let me. That, and I kinda want to go with some new headers anyways, just get a full complete exhaust system for the time being.

Well I found my exhaust setup. JBA Shorty headers, Mac Catted H-pipe, and still deciding on the cat back. I'll def make a clip of it when I get it, and put it on though.

Anybody know if a mac catback would sound good on our sixers? I kinda think that the look of chrome headers to a black mid-pipe to a black catback with chrome tips would look good for under the chassis, but I wanna make sure that they would sound good first. I can't find any exhaust clips.
