4.2L stroker
eventually in the next year or so i want build my engine into a 4.2L stroker with forged internals and a stage 2 powerpak from ssms, maybe down the line get a procharger for it if i ever come up with the money.
my question is... as my daily driver, i cant really have my car out of commission for an extended period of time. I could borrow a car during the process, but would want mine back within a reasonable time period (2 weeks or so) Is it better just to buy a already rebuilt engine? All I would have to do it pull out the old and shove in the new. Does ssms have turnkey 4.2L's? Where could i find a turnkey 4.2L with forged internals and a powerpak? im a nub when it comes to rebuilding enignes and would not want to tackle it myself as i dont have a good garage and tools to do so. Im just kind of wondering how I will go about the process of acquiring the 4.2L, so i guess what i am looking for is just tips and suggestions from you guys. thanks

ssms has damn close to turn keys... they do produce long block motors for purchase... that would be your best bet from there you would just need to transfer some small things over... as in the accessories and i think the timing cover is the other thing... not sure on that one...
... but other then that i think that might be the closest you will get... also www.Delk.com and www.MoranaV6racing.com have long blocks if you want to look into them

i get it, so morana has stroker kits which is what you rebuild your engine with, or they have stroker blocks which are fully assembled, basically turn key. whats the difference between a short block 4.2L and a long block?

long block comes with everything. the short block is just the engine and rotating assembly. with the short block you still need to get the heads and stuff

so if he is getin a 4.2 from super six and he wants a power pak would it be smarter to just get the short block then get the powere pak since it comes with heads. or would he want to buy the long block then switch the heads

i get it a little better now. onemanzu explained it to me. im pretty sure i will just end up getting a long block from ssms, which already has the powerpak heads and intake ect. idk its alot of money, i might just end up getting a stroker 3.8 or 4.0 instead from ssms, or get a less intense set up 4.2L
