x-cal 2 install

i just received my x-cal 2 that i ordered from bamachips and i had a few questions. i noticed in the instructions it says this.."First disconnect the fuel pump and electric fan fuses" where do i find these at? the next thing i was wondering is will it show on the tuner the name of the custom tunes i ordered such as performance or torque tune or will it just show something like programs 1,2 and 3. and will it save my stock tune by itself or is there an option i have to go to for that. hope someone can help me with this,i don't really want to start messing with it until i know for sure what im doing, lol

it will show what you named the tune.

it will also automatically save your stock tune.

the fuses are under the hood in your fuse box.
be sure that you pull them.

it should show what fuses are what once you take the top of the box off.

look at the bottom of the lid.

Your battery would have to be at less than 2% to die

and your fuel pump or fan coming on would easily Drain that 2 %.

they are automatically controlled by your ecu.

unless you pull the fuses they can come on even with the car off.

why take the chance?

pulling the micro relay isn't needed... pulling just the fuse will over ride the relay making it not come on

Definitely pull the fuse the PCM must have a steady 24v feed if it happens to fluctuate your going to have a dead car. Its very possible and has happened MANY times, allot of ppl have fucked there pcm flashing it. Especially when you DO NOT follow the instructions provided by the tuner manufacturer, like some ppl with red cars here do :wink

yah when the car is running and he ISNT flashing the pcm. when you are flashing the PCM SCT states you should disable the Fuel pump and Cooling fan to prevent PCM flash misshapes. Sniper dont recommend to unplug these and i still do because i know if that pcm gets a hiccup then im fucked.
