whats so unsafe about using carb and tb cleaner while revving the engine?

Now to the OP:

1) How do you know the IMRC is stuck?

2) have you considered sea foam?

nothing TOO unsafe
lol just pointless

also say the carb cleaner hits a valve..gets some carbon off and that gets trapped in the valve face and seat....now you have a problem

its not common obviously but its possible none the less

your correct but like you said this isnt commonly an issue. and if this happened what i would do is pull the plugs and put a bit of sea foam into the suspected cylinder and then give it a crank with out the plus in it, it will wash the valve face and seat hopefully and toss the excess seafoam out the exhaust valve and the plug hole. cant do this with a plug in, it wont crank cant compress a liquid :wink but i have seen this method before to clean shit out of the cylinders.

Note: remove all plug wires and plugs. also this is a last ditch effort before pulling the head.

why not, i have the engine running and manually rev the TB while i add seafoam or TB cleaner all the time. it dont hurt it, just chugs and runs like a bag cuz ur flooding the engine a bit and ur also creating a vacume leak from applying the cleaner.

your one to talk and as a side note my co-workers brother is a mechanic and he said there is a tool you can get that screws onto the top of a seafoam can and then plugs into a vacume line and allows the engine to idle and slowly draw in the intake cleaner with out causing a bad vacume leak there for making it clean the engine better and run better as your doing so.
