302 HO in a v6 mustang


I have a 03 stang with a 5 speed v6 in it. I recently bought a 302 Ho that I want to put in it but am confused as to what transmission i can get to fit. I wanna stay with a standard. Is there a tranny that would be better? Or can I just tear down and beef up the transmission thats in it now and get a new bell housing to match up? What other things would I have to do to make it work?

kind of extreme. i wouldnt consider a stock 302 a pos just b/c it happens to be stock...

Its a 302 that came out of an interceptor. what do you mean it wouldnt run better than the V6? even with the heds re done and headers?

it wont make much more power in stock form. however, change heads, intake and cam and you have upwards of 300rwhp on some setups...

Yeah the MAIN reason for this swap would be parts are cheaper, and you can get them pretty easy....

Get your self a trick flow top end kit, full exhaust ang gears and probably low 13's and high 12's on sticky tires. Better then any bolt on v6 or 2v gt for that matter actually. But stock for stock that motor in our cars will run like 15.4 or maybe in that range if I'm not mistaken.
