Going to the track...need help!

I have a 2003 V6 Mustang (5-speed) With dual flowmaster exhaust and a BBK CAI, running it with Mobil 1 synthetic oil (Doubt if that makes a difference) already removed the spare tire and all so what other things can I do to my car to give it an extra kick. I still have a whole day ahead of me before I goto the track so a quick performance mod from a shop is possible. Any idea what I'll run in the 1/4? And I need help on launching it the best way possible. I'm not trying to sit there spinning my tires or bog off to a slow start. Thanks guys! -Chris

you'll run a mid-high 15 in the quarter at 86-87 mph

take out the rear seat and front seat to save an extra 80lbs.

Welcome to MM. Try and get a feel for the track and your car since this appears to be your first time racing. Watch a couple of races and you will learn alot. Try and go out with buddies who have raced before. Have fun and report back.

Thanks guys. I can definately drive (Just been driving my automatic Corvette which is an automatic so its a pain to get used to the Mustang. Only reason I'm running the stang is because the Corvette now has a blown engine.) Its just been a while since I really rode the Mustang hard, or at all. How would I go about removing the rear seats? -Chris

I guess there are some clips or something you take out. Basicly there arent any bolts holding it down

The rear seat come out without too much trouble. I think there is only like 4 bolts holding it on.

that sounds about right, AB can strip most of his interior in under 15 min. when he is in no rush what so ever. If some things look a little complicated at first just take a look in your Haynes manual, but i doubt they will.
