Installing Foglights Right Now, Ran Into Problems

My kit came in today. I'm trying to install it, but can't even get the mounts on. There isn't enough room how did you guys get it on? Plus to top it all off it didn't come with the screws.

I've been working on it for nearly three hours now and all I have to show for it is removed bars where the fog lights go.

I'm not doing it tonight now, getting dark. So far I removed the cup holder, coin holder and bars in the bumper. That's the only thing I'm 100% sure on how to do. I have no instructions at all no screws, so this sucks. If you can try to help me with my current problems.

How to make enough room to screw on the mounts?
How do I make sure the mounts won't come off (do I buy a size bigger screw or what)?
How do I run the wires into the car?

running the wires takes you taking a pic of color of wires and me looking at mine and correlating the wiring for you. what kind of kit did you buy? what fuse? what switch? i can take pics of mine (not til this weekend though) or walk you through it if you take pics or post up the kit you bought.

thanks, dude

This is what I have: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/FORD-...3280QQtcZphoto

Jacking the car up and crawling under it sounds kinda risky too.

I read through that link several times and now I think I'll be fine. What kind of fuse will I need? I just noticed the kit didn't come with one. One more thing what size screws should I use? I want to make sure I get the right size screw because I can just see my self driving off after I install them, with a huge grin on my face. Just to come home and notice they fell off. lol
Thanks for all the help!

take the bracket to lowes and test the screws they sell if the kit doesnt say. mine came with hardware, and i cant check here at college... as far as fuse, dont worry about it if you dont have one. you dont need it for the kit to work

a switch is the most simple part of the kit! all it does is connect the current of the wires!

switches are universal, but mounting one is different. i have a switch that replaces the coin holder.

i like the stock look imo

and then i dont trust stuff that doesent include all i ned and isnt viable.

But i see what your saying.

id atleast get a stock switch.

but for the wiring part
you can tap into your fuse box.
just pick a fuse that suits you.
you can use one thats hot all the time or one thats only hot when your key is in the ignition and turned on.

use one thats active all the time (just like the headlights fuse). this way you can operate the fog lights just like the headlights. mine are independent of the headlights, but on the same kind of fuse

well the switch will keep the current from being on all the time, so they wont be always on...

This kit I have isn't OEM, but it's made specifically for my model/year. The switch is different though, so I can put it any where. The reason I didn't get a OEM kit is because this one was only $105 shipped compared to the OEM kit which is about $250.

I'll most likely will try to hide the switch some where, it mounts via two-way tap.

How would I tap into the headlight fuse? Also I never used a jack before so where would I jack it up at? Do you think I'll be able to just take a wheel off and splash guard to access the mount point easily? I'm saying this because I don't really want to jack the car up then crawl under it.

I have all the screws/U-nuts now. So I was going to get up early in the morning tomorrow (once sun comes up). To try to finish it before I have to go to work, which would give me about 4 hours.
