17 psi on the motor... not sure the horse power numbers VMP Tuning - Ford SCT & GM HPT Custom Handheld Flash Tuners VMP has two separate accounts of running 15+ psi on two different V6's in different manners on the turbo'd 3.8 they ran 17psi and 450 rwhp on there S.C'd 4.0 the7 ran 15psi and 395 rwhp both cars are stock engines and were only ran for a short amount of time at those parameters before tuned down to a safe means... what im saying is these blocks will take an ass whoppin and keep on given

And the safe range is...5-8 psi? I wonder what increase that would give.

Unfortunately for me, I'm not too knowledgeable on the subject. I took Welding instead of automotive tech in high school. I wish I had done former.

ok for a turbocharged V6 the max you wana do for the 99-04 is run about 12psi of boost on 93 octane with a stock motor. that'll set you at anywhere between 350-385rwhp depending if its twin turbo or not. anything beyond 12psi is already fishing for a new motor...............of course this is all with a dyno tune.
somone has built the top end and taken it to 440rwhp. and lived...VMPs car is a little drastic..well VERY. that car ran twice and never ran again. s/c- not much has been done with this really on stock engine..but 11psi and 12psi pulleys will survive with a tune. nitrous 100shot...you can get tuned for 125 and hope you stay around for a while

It almost sounds like the V-6 is fragile. By the way, mine is an '07.

well come on 400 horse power for an engine that comes with about 150 at the wheels that is a huge increase ... most engines need to be rebuilt once they hit 10 psi its a very impressive feat the essex has done ... as well as the new block these things are ass kicking strong
