yeah k n n is a great intake .. but the first time it got cold out the bracket snapped in half and i got that replaced but now ever since then the intake tube sometimes slips off the throttle body.. its annoying!!

I just bought a new one off ebay for like 40 buck total, so you can get one for cheap......just make sure its a true CAI, the K&N replacment is not a true CAI it has to run outside the engine compartment to get all that cold air

but the k & n has the heat shield by the air filter and it is in the engine compartment.. but i'll be better off w/ one that is outside the compartment?

Yes. Even though it has that heat shield the engine compartment is gonna heat up. The fenderwall CAI keeps the filter outside of the engine compartment where there is more + cooler air.

Ive never seen a reason to buy a name brand CAI for 200 bucks they are all just a filter and big molded metal pipes, had one from ebay never had a problem with it and it worked fine. And hot engine air can still get over that heat shield a fenderwell is better for cooler air.

If you already have a K&N don't waste more money buying another one. If your really having that big of a problem with it slipping off the throttle body get some tbolt clamps, then its not going anywhere.

dont change the intake since u alredy bougth it.. just try to find a way to direct cold air in.. or make it sux up air from the fenderwell

if you want the absolute best, get Tunable Induction's fenderwell kit.
