99 V6 Stang - Looking to mod

About a year ago, I bought a 1999 blue v6 mustang. In a few days, im going to take it to our local shop and get everything checked out, and anything that needs fixed, fixed up. Afterward, I would like to mod up the mustang. I looking for a nice sound, but speed is what im really looking for. Im aware that the 99 v6 3.8s have a stock 150 rwhp, and would like to boost that. My budget is about 500$ for these two months.
Would like to know what I should get first for these two months. (if you have any suggestions to which brand/supplier i should get the mods from, those would be appreciated.) The next two months i will have another $500 to spend, if you can have suggestions for those also, That would be nice.(i need to incorporate install fees into the budgets also)

Thanks a bunch!

CAI, UD Pulley, exhaust and an X-Cal 2 would all be good mods to start out with.

I think he should make one though, I have bugged him a few times asking if he wanted to use mine to test fit, but no real demand compared to the v8's... i should of said he doesn't make one for the 3.8/3.9 mustangs, because he did do one for the 05+ 4.0 v6 mustangs

not all that great, cai dont do all that much. If i were to do intake i would get a ford wind star(haha mini van!) intake manifold put it inplace of the stock one and bolt up the throttle body, MAS, and a conical k$n filter to it.
hovever, i do not think it will fit under the hood, so you would have to make a custom ram air thing for it (hole in top of hood with a box over top and a screen with the hole in the front of the box) or just get a 99+ gt hood and slightly modify it?(you guys correct me if im wrong about the fitting thing, but atleast if you do this the "ram air" or a custom cai will be necesary to keep cool air on/in the intake)

Check out what AB has done with his 99 v6, do this and you will run in the mid-high 14's in the 1/4! And if you eventually end up doing a cam on top of that you will run rather high 13s(if you get good and in good conditions) to 14 flats!

the winstar and f-150 intakes work, but take work... you will also have to modify the throttle cabling, the biggest clearance issues come from the IAC being top mounted on the intake, in this thread you can see the f150 and winstar intakes
