Help! Headlight Fog

Well, I guess I was half expecting this, but it still sucks. I purchased some aftermarket clear corner headlights b/c my stock ones were fogged beyond help. Well, the new ones survived the first rain storm, but I just got back from the car wash and there is a slight bit of fog underneath one of the lights . Now, since they are new lights and I did seal them pretty thoroughly with some silicone before putting them in, I don't really want to take apart the whole lense to clear it up and just hope that it gets sealed better this time. I have heard from some that drilling a small hole underneath the enclosure to allow some air flow has alleviated the fogging. Is this a viable option? are there other problems that would arise from the hole being there? Any suggestions are welcome.....damn, this is frustrating, just when I had the stang lookin' all nice.

Got the headlight off and a blow dryer on it. It seems to be working, but I will give it a while before I go to sealing it up again.

I believe I got all the moisture out and I resealed them with a TON of silicone. So far they are fog free, lets hope they remain that way.

i have the same headlights. i sealed them up, but my driver's side one still fogged up. i took it out, put a blow dryer in it until it looked dry inside, then i let it sit in the hot sun for about 3 hours with the bulbs out so any remaining moisture could escape. put them back in and have not had a problem since.

aftermarket lights tend to leak and fog in the rain, under water pressure, or in extremely wet areas. just hair dry the moisture, sit in the sun/attic for a few hours, then run some silicone around the perimeter where the glass meets the backing. this will solve the fogging issue.

UPDATE: AtlanticBlue, you're advice is spot on. Definetly use the blow dryer to remove moisture, and even if it looks dry, continue using the blow dryer for a couple more hours. I resealed mine with silicone after the first fog up and they got fogged again in the next rain. After drying them a second time, I could not find any cracks in the silicone where water could have gotten in. I took some electrical tape and tightly taped over all the silicone sealant, overlapping the tape to make sure it was water tight. It has now survived rain and the carwash, and the tape has acutally held up too. Just thought I'd add this to the thread for anyone in the future that may be searching this topic.
