Clunk Clunk Clunk Sound

i got this sound that only comes up when the engine temperature gauge is at half (or warmed up) and when i accel at 1,400 RPMS to 2,500 RPMS.

Its a cluck luck luck rattle rank sound in between the alternator and firewall ??? i was thinking head gasket or header leak???

any clues?????

You just described the entire engine compartment.

Is the noise constant, or does it only do it sometimes? Did this happen all of a sudden, or did this noise appear gradually over time? Try and pay attention to the noise, and any vibrations coming from it. Does it sound like it's coming from up front, where the engine is, or more underneath you, say where the transmission and clutch are?

im saying its where the alternator sits right by the battery and to the brake booster.

its a very slight rattle but its quite loud. it dosent not seem to be affecting anything. it happnes all the time as long as the engine is hot

Yeah for sure. And blown head gaskets don't make clunking noises.

Only when you're accelerating?

This could be a number of things. A bad bearing in the alternator or idler pulley.

Worst case, it could be a rod or main bearing. It could also be that your timing is off, and the knocking you are hearing is what's called detonation.
